[pic of an awesome car]. Last night I traveled home from my inlaws on the highway, and I noticed in the rearview mirror a car cutting off another car, but thought nothing of it. A few minutes later, both of these cars were speeding down the highway, trying to overtake each other. It was stupid snd reckless. I'm really thankful I changed lanes as they were coming up behind me.

I only mention this because you never known the mindset of the other person. My dad told me a story that, in the neighborhood of our old house (in Roseville, MI), a neighbor and another car kept cutting each other off until they got to Detroit. That's when, at a light, the other guy whipped out a gun and shot the neighbor dead. The neighbors' son was in the car too and saw it all.

Last year, in Howell, there was another road rage incident. Someone else got shot because of road rage. I don't know the whole story there, but the family is from Hartland. I only know this because our church gave them food this past christmas.

So just a friendly reminder, it's ok to have people pass you on the road.

Ahh yes, Roseville. Not quite East Detroit, not quite Mt. Clemens.

Yep, we lived north of 10 mile. My parents moved away because the neighbor next door kept harassing us. He threw nails into our backyard and put his garbage right next to our house. He wasn't a nice man.

Haha! I lived off of Frazho near Hayes. Went to Kaiser Elementary until about 1992/1993.

Wife's friend's husband (well boyfriend at the time) supposedly got cut off, sped up and brandished his Glock 26 at the guy. About a mile later was swarmed with blue. Turned out the guy who allegedly cut him off was a cop going home after the night shift while cowboy was headed to work in the morning rush.

Yeah, I won't argue that. It was at the edge of the ghetto area.

Dort Elementary, until 2nd grade. My parents moved to Warren, where I went to Briarwood, and eventually WWT.

Dang. At least no one got hurt there. I can understand not liking being cut off, but to show off a gun? My first instinct is let him pass, get the plate, call the cops.

Great last line. I have the same philosophy. If someone is THAT desperate to get in front of me, let them go right ahead. I'd rather give them some space then end as the result of some dumbass's rage.

Oh yeah, it was an extremely stupid thing to do (from an extremely stupid young person). The guy was all pissed off afterwards because his lawyer told him to shut up, stop fighting, and take whatever deal they offered.

He basically goes: "You are extremely lucky to be alive. If this hadn't happened in rush hour with lots of witnesses and potential for collateral damage you'd be dead. If, for a single second after the cruisers showed up, your hands weren't visible you'd be dead. If a single one of the police had been new, just an asshole, nervous, angry, bored, etc. you'd be dead. Think of it like you survived cancer and now you have a whole lot of medical bills to cover. Yes, your life is forever changed, it's going to be difficult to get your footing going forward, but you're alive and can do things better in the future."

It was over ten years ago now and the guy is a much calmer, better person these days.

Ha, small world! We lived close to the school, I think. We were on the same street as the building where they kept the ice cream trucks. Forget the name of the street though.

Thanks! I mean, I'm not crazy for the jerks drivers that do plague the roads, but I'm not going to be a victim of their idiocy either. All I can do is pray a cop is watching or something. :)

Don't misconstrue where I live from my screenname. where I live there are tons of old people so the road rage is more like a "wake up old fogey!" rage. And it takes about a mile before the old person remembers that they are driving a "motor vehicle" not sitting in a horse carriage.

In Florida, the older generations drive too fast. I just hope their reaction time can keep up with their speed.

Reaction time? lol Speed? lol In the southeast, folks still believe in "Sunday Driving". Im in georgia and yeah sometimes the traffic cooperates but its not the norm.
